What is a blog review for?

The blog review and ratings purposes are:

• to expose quality blogs to new readers
• to improve mommies blogging skills by constructive criticism

How a blog is rated?

A blog is rated based on 5 points.

1. Content
2. Uniqueness
3. Activity
4. Appearance
5. Navigation

Each characteristic is given 1 of 5 point values.

• Poor – .20
• Below Average – .40
• Average – .60
• Above Average – .80
• Excellent – 1.00

For example, a blog that scores Excellent in content and activity but only average in navigation, appearance and uniqueness, will receive a total score of 3.80. We round the total score to the nearest whole number, so the example would equal a rating of 4.

What are the highest and lowest rating?

The highest rating is 5 star.

• 5 – Excellent
• 4 – Above Average
• 3 – Average
• 2 – Below Average
• 1 – Poor

Do you review blogs by request only?

We prefer to review blogs based on request submitted by the blog owners. However, sometimes we may do review on a blog that we found and wanted to share because we like it. Or, because a blog is poor and we want to give examples of what not to do to a blog.

How do I request a review?

Easy! Click on the Blog Review Program link under the Sticky sidebar and leave a comment there with a link to your blog. The review is based on First Submit First Review basis. There will be a long queue so please be patience. Everyone has a chance to be reviewed.

I got a good review. Can I show it off on my blog?

Absolutely! You can copy the Review Badge that we place in each review. Simply put the badge on your blog and link it back to your review. People will recognize that you have been reviewed on MomBloggersPlanet.

I got a bad review what should I do?

Please don’t get angry if you get a bad review. Just take the constructive critism to improve your blog. The blog review program is for open minded mom bloggers only. So, if you think you can’t accept a bad review, please don’t submit a request.

I got a bad review and used the review to improve my blog. Can I request for a second review?

Sure you can! The purpose of a blog review is to learn and improve your blogging skills. So, let’s see how much you have improved!
