How to Backup Blogger Blog?
The whole blogging world was in chaos last Friday’s afternoon due to unexpected outage of Blogger’s server. The outage caused many blogs hosted on Blogspot were unable to be accessed – both by owners and by readers.
I was trying to read a favorite blog of mine on Blogspot when suddenly a stupid bX-59cppw error message popped up on my screen. I thought it was due to my internet browser… but it was the same in Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox. Fortunately, it’s nothing serious. And, all blogs seem to go back to normal.

Let’s ammend a few more things before you start blogging with WordPress. On your Dashboard, scroll down until you see the Setting button on the left sidebar.

Click General. In this General Setting, you can change things like blog title, tagline, time zone etc. The two most important thing to change here is the Tagline and the Time Zone. Pick UTC+8 to update the time zone to Malaysia.

WordPress is wonderful with plenty of widgets and plugins. However, plugins are only available with the advanced version in which you need to get your blog hosted.
Let’s play with the widgets first. From the Appearance tab, click Widget. You’ll see a selection of widgets that you can pick to show on your blog sidebar. Widget is equivalent to Gadget in Blogspot.

Just click the Add button and Save Changes.

There is another important thing you should do for your blog. Go to Appearance > Extra.

Go to your blog Dashboard. Scroll down and select Appearance > Custom Image Header.
Depends on the templates, you need create your logo according to the specified height and weight. Else, the logo would become distorted.
Then, upload the logo to your Wordpress blog.

The very first thing that you want to do with your WordPress blog is to change the layout.
Sign in and go to the Dashboard. Scroll down and find the Appearance button on the left sidebar and expand it. Click “Themes”. Here you can manage the themes of your blog.

There are lots of beautiful templates for you to choose!

You can filter them by clicking the tiny arrow that say, Show All Themes. Here you can filter by colors, columns and widths. Merrier than Blogspot, right?

I really love WordPress. Infact, I’m using WordPress for all my blogs (the advance version – I’ll create an entry on how to upgrade from the free version to the paid one soon).
