Got boobies?
Yeah.. sure you do! But do you really take good care of your boobies?
Boobies…. a rather cute name for a pair of breasts. They are indeed very very important. Without them, you will never feel the same. Never!
Boobies spell beauty and self-confidence. That’s the sole reason why Hollywood celebrities love to boost up theirs with silicon injection here and there..ha..ha 
Well, we Malaysian moms may not be so boobies-conscious as those celebrities. But, we should go boobies-conscious for another reason – our boobies are the best source of nutritions to our little babies!
Just imagine, what will happen if you lost one or both of your boobies? Emotional disaster!!
You see, breast cancer was the commonest cancer in Malaysian women, amongst all races from the age of 20 years in Malaysia for 2003 to 2008.
The statistics are more frightening in countries like the USA where about 184,000 new cases of breast cancer are detected annually.
- Every 3 minutes, one woman is diagnosed with breast cancer (USA)
- Every 11 minutes, one woman dies from breast cancer (USA)
- Every year, 30,000 women and 200 men are diagnosed with breast cancer (UK)
A woman in Malaysia has a 1 in 20 chance of getting breast cancer in her lifetime.
Of these 8 types of cancer in women, the biggest killer is breast! That’s boobies!
Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF) and University Malaya (UM) recently teamed up to conduct the CARIF-UM Breast Cancer Genetic Study, the largest study of its kind to determine the genes which cause breast cancer, specifically in Malaysian women.
While the majority of breast cancers are ‘sporadic’, about 10% are ‘familial’, meaning the condition runs in the same family, and therefore the family members have an inherited risk to breast cancer.
Scary facts but it would get more scary if you never self-examine your boobies. It’s so easy to do and will only take a few minutes. You can do it in the shower or anytime you like. Your boobies, your responsibility.

balik check boobies for any sign on lump.. kalo ada lump pegi jumpa doktor secepat mungkin… lump kecik kat boob boleh jadik besar dan bahaya kalau dibiarkan.

tapikan ros….kat M’sia ni pelik sket…even kita dah ada kesedaran bila nak p check kdg² doktor ckp I’m still young…nak buat mamogram pun kena umo 40thn kalau tak silap… takat umo 29 cam ai ni dia ckp takde papenyer…paling kurang pun dia raba² breast kita…kalau takat nak raba canggitu leh buat sendiri kat umah…
citer pasal lump..kawan ann ada lump kat breast then dia mintak nasihat doktor n doktor tu ckp “why wake up a sleeping tiger…” leh ke doktor tu ckp canggitu? If we wait till the tiger already wake up…agaknya time tu kita lak yg KO time tu…

ann, hoh! ada gak doktor malas cam gitu ye? pelik tu.. kalo kita nak check buat je la.. bukannya kita tak bayar kan?
me rasa pun ada segelintir doktor kat Malaysia ni kerja tak serius pasal bab2 penyakit macam ni (jgn marah ah.. mak-mak dokter sekalian..).. kisah benar la kan.
tapi tak semua doktor macam tu kan.. so kalau one doktor kata tak payah risau, better pegi cari doktor lain.
lump kat breast mana leh buat main-main.. ketumbuhan kecik yang “benign” tak bahaya/bukan kanser boleh bertukar jadi “malignant” = kanser yang ganas tu.. ish
ke patut buat kempen kesedaran kat doktor pulak kot? kalau pesakit dah dtg mengadu/mintak nasihat tu.. buat la further checkup kan

True enuff. kempen ni patut luaskan lagi kat dokter-dokter. MMg laa diorang hari hari mengadap mcm-mcm penyakit sampai kadang tuh ambil ringan je bila orang datang mengadu. Geram betul!
