Petaling Jaya: Over 300 prolific parenting bloggers and Friso Gold product users with their children attended the Nuffnang Friso Gold Family Day Out 2010 held recently at Kizsports & Gym in 1-Utama Shopping Centre.
The guests were thrilled that Nuffnang, Asia-Pacific’s first blog advertising community, and Friso Gold, a premium growing up milk formula from Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd, had organised another family day out following the first in 2008. The event was an opportunity for the guests to bond with their children and young family members over activities and games. Toddlers were entertained by music and taught to do the “Hokey Pokey” dance while kids above 3 years played games like “Stand On The Spot”. There were also a sand art colouring session and magic show at Playland which amazed both the kids and the parents. The entertaining and memorable activities were specifically designed for the strengthening of parent-child relationships. Some of the games were created to encourage the children to be self-confident. Haslina Harun, a housewife, said blogging enabled her to socialise and earn pocket money from home. It also enables her to join events such as the day out that is beneficial to her and her kids. Country manager Nicholas Chay said Nuffnang was proud to get together with Friso Gold once again to organise the event, which brought together parenting bloggers, which number has grown tremendously over the years. Nuffnang Friso Gold Family Day Out was also a platform for parents and parents-to-be to share knowledge and experiences on parenting. “Children’s immunity” was the subject focus this year, and guests participated in talks on the topic by Ms. Ruth Liew, a renowned child expert and noted author on parenting. “This event underlines our commitment to helping mothers nurture their children by providing them with the optimal nutrition,” said Mr Rahul Colaco, Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd marketing director. The highlight of the day was the unveiling of the winners of the Best Blog Entry contest. Little Mama and her family won a holiday package of a three-day two-night 3D/2N trip to Disneyland Hong Kong. Her winning entry was entitled “Curious Children Need To Be Tough Inside”. “I took one whole day, from morning to next morning, to come up out with the entry,” said Little Mama who was overjoyed at being declared announced as the grand prize winner. Little Mama, mother of a 2-year-old daughter, is an accountant by day and a blogger, web designer, tailor and photographer by night. |
