MySuperKids – Blog Review

The blog was known as MySuperChild on Blogspot before it’s moved to it’s current domain at MySuperKids. If not mistaken, the blog previously has a black header with a Caucasian super kid picture. Now, the header is left to plain white with only the title and tagline showing.
There’s nothing wrong being minimal but since the header is the very first thing that visitors see upon reaching the blog, it’s advised to make it outstanding. This is especially true for new visitors who usually will judge a site by it’s first impression.
I noted that the owner is in the process of collecting super kids photo to be featured in her blog’s header. I think that’s a great idea that goes well with the blog’s name, MySuperKids.
The owner uses a three-columned WordPress template from DIYThemes which I believe is a paid-per-use template. In terms of background, the owner has made a wise decision to stick with white. You see, white is the choiced color of most of successful websites like Google and Yahoo (just to name a few).
Why top ranking websites prefer white? Why not black, dark red, striking green or other hot colors? There should be reason(s) why search engines use a black letters on a white background. I believe because it’s easy to the eyes. You don’t have to squint your eyes so much reading black text on white compared to white text on black, right?
Let’s have a look at the blog’s elements. Both sidebars are located on the right side. You can find Nuffnang ads, Google Adsense, banners, free ebooks, search and subcription forms, a poll, category, archives, recent posts, monthly top commentators, recent comments and Google Friend Connect.
Content wise, it’s updated on regular basis. The owner writes mostly about her journey of raising her two super sons, breastfeeding, parenting, technology, religious tips, fashion and blogging tips. Most blog posts area accompanied by relevant pictures which add meaning to the contents.
I’m giving this blog 4 star rating out of 5. This blog get an excellent for content, above average for activity, appearance & navigation. And, an average for uniqueness.

Here’s a suggestion of things to improved.
- Create a new header which represent the blog’s name, MySuperKids. I noted that the owner is currently working on collecting pictures of superkids to be featured on the blog’s header. I think that’s a great idea!
- There are still many empty spaces on both sidebars (scrolling down towards the bottom) and at the footer. The owner could utilized the empty spaces for Google Adsense (skyscraper/leaderboard ad format) or other things that she think would benefits her blog (and readers).

actually, apa yg anon tu mention ada gak betulnya (jgn marah ye).. certain people become easily annoyed with too many banner ads especially kalau yg blinking punya…
but some people just don’t care.. they only want to read your blog bcoz it’s has something that interest them to come back again and again..
so, my advise.. perhaps you boleh kurangkan the blinking banners and replace it with some text ads (mcm google adsense u can choose nak display text ads atau banner ads).. kot boleh kurangkan sakit mana si anon tu..
