Hello people!
MOMBLOGGERSPLANET & ME : FROM DAY ONE
It’s almost a year since I started contributing articles for Mombloggersplanet (MBP). My first article for Little Mama’s site came out on 11th December 2009, entitled ‘Write a Yummy Food Review”. That was the starting of a wonderful relationship with MBP. I contribute articles, and MBP introduced me to a wider world of blogging!

BECOMING A CONTRIBUTOR FOR MBP
It all began when my dear friend Kak Arin suggested that I applied to become a Contributor for MBP. I already knew about this site when I entered my 2nd son Kahfi in the ‘Cutest Baby in Red’ contest organized by Little Mama.
In my application, I have to state reasons WHY I want to become a Contributor for MBP.
* Reasons why you want to become an MBP Contributor
1) I simply LOVE to write, and always make an effort to pick just the right word, to send out just the right sentiment or message, in whichever subject I’m writing about. This means, you’d be sure to get quality writing.
2) I used to be an editor, and writes stories for young adults before becoming a fulltime mom since moving to Dubai. I really miss writing with a purpose, and this is a wonderful opportunity for me to get back in the writing field and contribute like I used to.
3) Mombloggersplanet is huge with large fanbase, and surely is a great platform for me to share my passion for words with the world.
4) I don’t work from home, nor do I make money blogging – and though I am fairly new to blogging (started only dec ’08) I would love to share my thoughts on blogging the right and effective way.
5) If you look at my blog, I blog almost every day, so I believe I can meet the deadlines and minimum number of articles per month, God willing.
WHY MBP CONTRIBUTOR?
I really, really wanted to be a Contributor! Believe it or not, it wasn’t about gaining traffic to my blog (I have not even signed up for Nuffnang at that time. I’ve only been with Nuffnang for only 2 months now), it’s simply about being able to write, and share it with others. Pure and simple.
Also, for those who still don’t know, I am currently living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I followed my husband who got a job here. So far life is wonderful and Dubai is just a great place to live in, and raise my boys. The cost of living is high, but we learn to keep for rainy days. I don’t work here, so being a Contributor for MBP gave me something to look forward to.
Little Mama granted my wish, and along with 9 other talented writers, began our journey as part of the MBP team.
SYIGIM, WHAT’S YOUR POINT?
Are you wondering already why am I blabbering about these things from the past? Well, with a heavy heart, I feel that it is time for me to say so long farewell as Contributor for MBP!
- I find myself struggling more to meet deadlines for my MBP articles, and I ended up feeling bad
- My responsibilities to my 3 boys far outweigh the demands of being a blogger
- I have a 7 month old baby now, and my eldest son has just started school, while my 2nd boy is such an attention seeker!
It’s not fair to Little Mama that I couldn’t give her quality articles, and it’s not fair to my kids that I spent too much time putting words together on the computer.
FAREWELL MBP!
So dear MBP, this is where we part ways. It is a difficult decision, because I wish I could still write for MBP – but I trust it’s for the best. I shall continue to support MBP and Little Mama, and the remaining Contributors.
I thank MBP, Little Mama and MBP fans for :
- The opportunity to share my thoughts with other moms
- The friendship fostered with other blogger moms (and dads!) some have even become regulars at my personal blog
- The knowledge, tips, advice and experiences you shared with me
- The support you gave to my articles all this while through your thoughtful comments
