Simply simple. That’s my first thought when looking at TripleColourLife blog. But, don’t get me wrong. Simple is a good thing to have for a blog. It helps to make a blog loading faster.
The owner uses a brown polka-dot header with the blog title written on it – {MY} TripleColourLife. Simple, yet nice to look at.
The blog layout is a 3-columned with two sidebars, both positioned on the right side. The content space is on far left. On the middle sidebar, there are some details about the owner, a shoutbox, banners, links to favorite blogs, labels and archive. Whereas on the right sidebar, you can find the blog’s badge, banners, links to mommy blogs, nuffnang ads and a live traffic feed.
The owner use white for the background which is the best color for any blog or website. It’s a good idea to stick to white because it’s easy to the eye. And, most big and succesful websites like Yahoo and Google also use white because of the same reason. Easy to read.
Content wise, it doesn’t seem to be updated on regular basis. The owner writes about everything that circle around her life. There are stories about her emotion, marriage life, pregnancy, contest, nonsense stuff, work, parenting and of course about her sweet little daughter (Anis Manis). Most blog posts area accompanied by relevant pictures which add meaning to the contents, and make the blog aesthetically appealing overall.
This blog scores a 3 star rating out of 5. This blog get an average for content, uniqueness and activity. Appearance and navigation scores above average. The appearance of the blog is well done, with no distractions. Navigation is also quite easy on this blog.

Here’s a suggestion of things that I think the ownner could do.
- The navigation on the sidebars could be improved. For example, the blog archive and label could be moved further up on any of the sidebar. It would make it easier for readers to browse through the older entries.
- For archive and labels, it’s recommended to select “Dropdown Menu” style. Showing these in “Dropdown” style looks neat and open more space for something else. (To edit style: go to Layout>Page Element>Edit the gadget/widget).
- There are still many empty spaces on both sidebars (scrolling down towards the bottom) and at the footer. The owner could utilize the empty spaces for Google Adsense (skyscraper/leaderboard ad format) or other things that she think would benefits her blog (and readers).
