There’s no place like home – the tagline being used by UmmiAbbiQis blog truly reflect the owner’s desire of becoming a stay at home mom in the future.If you need a little bit of a break, or for some chat with another mom, you will want to check out UmmiAbbiQis blog.
The owner uses a three-columned template whereby the contents are neatly keep in the middle. There are a left and right navigation bar which make surfing the blog easy as ABC. Content is written in black text on khaki green background. The blog uses background from TheCutestBlogOnTheBlock which compliment well with the color scheme.
In the left navigation bar you will find about the owner, a picture of her daughter (Qis), friends’ blog updates, blogroll and favorite links. In the right navigation bar, you will find some banners, a shoutbox, a follower widget, archives, categories and a live traffic feed. Archives and categories are important aspects of a blog to attract search engine traffic and help readers find older posts.
Most of blog posts are accompanied by relevant pictures which add meaning to the contents. And, make the blog interesting as well.
I’m giving this blog 3 star rating as it is still in early stages. Right now the owner is doing well for activity. The content is well done with the personal voice you would expect in a personal blog. The owner could attract and interest an already growing readership by keep up posting new contents regularly.
Navigation wise, standard navigation menus such as Recent Post and Recent Comments should be added. Adding these elements may make the blog a little easier to move around. And, if the blogger keeps up with her current rate of activity, the navigation menus will be important as more content is added to the blog.
This blog get a below average for content and uniqueness. The owner can improve by adding more interesting contents related to her lifestyle, thoughts, motherhood tips etc. Appearance scores above average as this blog is cleanly laid out and easy to read.
Here’s a summary of things that can be improved.
- Change the logo to fit the template size (the current logo is too small, leaving a big space on the top). Try creating a 990×160 pixel logo to replace the existing 400×160 pixel.
- Add more standard navigation menus such as Recent Post and Recent Comments to help readers finding ways in the blog.
- Currently there are more than 7 posts showing on the main page which is too many. It’s advisable to limit the number of posts showed to less than 5 for faster loading time (especially if each post is a long one with many pictures).
- Sign up to Google Adsense and Nuffnang if you haven’t do so. These are some of the ways for the owner to earn extra money from blogging. I’m not sure whether the existing banner on AFUNDI updates is giving any side income or not. If it isn’t, then better to replace it with Google Adsense or Nuffnang. Put Google Adsense and Nuffnang on top of the right sidebar and move the AFUNDI ones below.
- Friends update with snippets of recent post and icons are taking lot of spaces on the left sidebar. Since the owner has lots of friends, it’s advisable to untick the options and change to show only the title of recent post and date. The owner can put Google Adsense on the free spaces.
- Consider putting Google Adsense or Nuffnang ad at the bottom. It could take a while to get money from Adsense or Nuffnang because both requires high readership in a blog. But, it’s good to begin with.

1. tentang logo – logo tu maksudnye header tu kan? ekceli saya sbnarnye nakkan kelainan.. sbb kebanyakan blogger.. header mereka besar dan dicentralised.. jd saya nak buat yg lain.. kecik dan ketepi.. mmg sengaja biarkan space besar.. nampak cacat sgt eh.. klu sy tmbah banner/ satu lg picture sblh dia ok ke??
2. recent post n comment tu mmg dah ade dlm blog saya.. kedua2nya ada kat sidebar belah kanan.. tp cam recent comment tu pelik skit.. kadang2 appear.. kadang2 tak.. tak taula nape

5. pasal frenz update nih.. ermm sy sebenarnye suke nak baca sinopsis ape yg kawan2 tulis.. saya listkan seme sbb sy takut tak terkejar latest entry kawan2.. tp ape2pun sya akan kurangkan bilangannye.. thanx..

Ya betul… logo = header.. logo ni ibarat satu identiti pada sebuah blog.. when u open a blog this is what u FIRST see.. so logo ni the perfect place to tell the world about u and your blog.. so it’s great idea to make it nice and properly sized.. not to small and not too big.. i think your picture kissing Qis tu very nice cuma kecik la sikit.. but it’s up to individual.. i only suggest from my experiences
2. It’s good kalau recent post and recent comments dah ada… cuba remove and letak balik widget tu kalau kejap ada kejap tak de

yan, as mentioned in the review, it would take a while to get any money (income) from placing Nuffang or Adsense ads.. plus it depends of the number of visitors that come to your blog… the higher the readership… the income potential should be more..
also.. nuffnang got 3 types of ads that give different value of payment..
1)general ads that give RM0.25 per click
2)metered campaigns – payment varies based on time of exposure/impression on the blog (from RM2 to RM50)
3)advertorial write up – payment varies (from hundreds each to thousand)
yg no 1 tu biasa bagi blog yg biasa-biasa.. maknanya yg tak da hits byk sangat
yg no 2 tu Nuffnang akan tgk hits kita pastu baru dia decide nak allocate metered campaign ke tidak kat kita
